Heroes for Children is thrilled to introduce our new Executive Director, Kristy Hensel.
Kristy is a seasoned non-profit executive, and is responsible for leading Heroes for Children in our mission of providing financial and social assistance to families who have a child battling cancer throughout the state of Texas.
Kristy’s career has been dedicated to non-profit service, serving in various leadership positions for 30 years. Before coming to Dallas in 1989, Kristy began her career as a field director for the American Cancer Society in Kansas. Additionally, she served as the development director and national director of major and planned gifts for the American Heart Association.
In the Dallas area, Kristy has had executive and development leadership roles with Junior Achievement of Dallas and the American Diabetes Association of North Texas/Louisiana. Prior to joining Heroes for Children, she served as the Director of National Development for the Boy Scouts of America, national Director of Fundraising for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Chief Development Officer of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
Kristy and her husband Mark have two children and live in the Dallas metro area. Please join us in welcoming Kristy to our organization!
