"Julian was diagnosed with Large B-Cell Lymphoma on May 2, 2007.
It started when he found a lump on his lower left back the beginning
of March, 2007.l We watched it for a couple of weeks and it
did not go away. So, we took him to the doctor to check it
out. The doctor sent us for an ultrasound of the lump and then
to a surgeon to have it removed. Once diagnosed, we were
referred to Medical City Children's Hospital of Dallas to the
Pediatric Oncology Clinic. We met with the doctor on May 9,
2007. We found out that Julian's cancer was more widespread
than we first anticipated and that he was being admitted directly to
the hospital from the doctor's office. That was pretty scary
to hear. He had his port inserted on the morning of May 12,
2007, and began chemotherapy that afternoon.
Julian has now completed three rounds of chemotherapy. He has been
declared in remission and has to complete two more rounds of
chemotherapy. In May 2007, Julian received a new Dell laptop
computer from your organization. This computer has been a
lifesaver for him while he is in the hospital and at home! When in
the hospital, it gives him something to do because he can watch
movies on his laptop and play Runescape, an internet game. He
can also keep in touch with all his friends via e-mail. When
Julian is home, he can use his own computer and doesn't have to try
to use the family computer that everyone else is trying to use as
well. He absolutely loves his laptop and it is never
far from where he is sitting. Thank you!"
--Chris's Story, 17 years old.
Laptop donated in 2006
"Just a note to tell you how thrilled Chris is with the laptop
you presented to him last weekend during his chemotherapy
treatment at Cook's. Each day he asks if his on-line English 12
courses through Texas Tech have been set up yet, because now
he's got a computer and is ready to start studying on-line! That
is so wonderful!
The laptop will make a huge difference in Chris' quality of life
throughout the remainder of his cancer treatments and beyond.
Your timing couldn't have been better -- Chris really dreaded
resuming the chemotherapy treatments post-surgery, so it was
great for him to have something so positive to look forward to
in the midst of his first post-operative hospitalization. Again,
thank you to Laptops for Love and Heroes for Children for making
this possible for Chris!"
Laptops for Love operates solely off of the donations of others.

In Loving Memory of Jordan Morgan
Laptops for Love was created in loving memory of Jordan Morgan.
Jordan courageously battled Acute Myeloid Leukemia for two years.
During Jordan's treatment, he was isolated from friends, family, and
school. Jenny and Andrew Scott, Allie's parents lived on the
same floor of the hospital at the time of Jordan's treatment.
For more than a week, Jordan's mother borrowed the Scott's laptop
for his use. Seeing that Jordan didn't have the means to get a
laptop of his own, the Scotts decided to purchase a new machine for
Jordan. Doctors and nurses reported the change in Jordan's
attitude--he sat up more in his bed, began speaking more to others,
and communicated with friends. Jordan's memory is carried out
each time a laptop is donated to a teen. It is in his memory
that this program continues.
