Young Leaders

Heroes for Children is setting out to create an environment where Teens and Young Adults have the tools and support they need to go out into their community and become servant-oriented leaders.  

Here is what you need to know to apply...

Application Process:

* Must be a high school student

* Fill out application online by September 30th

Expectations of Young Leaders:

* Attend first meeting via in person or online – decided the Young Leader Director

* Follow Heroes For Children on social media (i.e. Instagram, Facebook and/or Linkedin)

* There may be a $25 fee to cover costs of a t-shirt and/or blanket event for patients. Scholarships are available, see Young Leader Director

* Must participate in two events during the school year where Young Leader volunteers are needed

Some events are held in a neighboring town. Young Leaders are responsible for their transportation to and from events

* Help plan a fundraising event at your school or with a group of friends

Events or activities must be approved by the Young Leader Director – HFC does not accept unsolicited items (i.e. clothing, toys, etc)


Completion of YLP year:

* Each YL who completes all the above in the 2024-2025 YL year will receive a Certificate of Recognition

* A YL who would like a letter of reference for college, work, etc and has successfully completed the 2024-2025 YL year can receive a personal letter
